Color Guide Orbiloc Dog Light Differences
View the Orbiloc Color Guide above to choose the right color for your dog.
What do the colored dots under the lights on the color guide mean?
- These indicate the measured visibility of the Orbiloc light in the chosen color compared to the other available colors. These measurements were made with new batteries in a dark room, viewed directly from 1 meter.
- The other factor is how the human eye perceives the different colors. For example, the yellow Orbiloc light is considered one of the most visible colors, but because it is very gentle on the eye, it is not "blinding." The white and green light are also measured as very visible, but these colors are more "blinding" and therefore easier to see with dogs with longer fur.
There are several factors that determine which color light suits your dog best:
- the environment where you live: rural or urban?
- where you attach the light: collar, leash, harness or jacket?
- Does your dog have a short or long coat?
- Do you have multiple dogs? Then choose a different color light for each dog. Then it is easier to keep them apart in the dark.
Red: Red light is the colour that you see best from a great distance compared to the other colours. Red is the colour for signalling and safety. That is why the rear light of a bicycle and car is also red. The red colour is gentle on the eyes and does not disturb night vision.
Amber: Amber is a bright and warm shade. This colour is very visible in fog or grey weather, then this colour often stands out extra well. Roadworks or warning signs in traffic are often yellowish, which means that other road users are often extra attentive to this colour.
Yellow: Yellow is a color that stands out in the dark. Yellow is the most eye-catching color, making it a unique and useful color. The yellow orbiloc is good visibility in foggy and very foggy weather. The yellow light is soft for the eyes to look at, making it very suitable for your dog's leash.
Blue: Blue is associated with police, emergencies and accidents. It causes drivers to slow down in traffic. The blue Orbiloc looks relatively brighter in low light.
White: White is the color of bicycle lights and vehicle headlights. White light is also often associated with the forward direction of a runner or a person walking. Do you have a dog with a thick coat? Then the white Orbiloc is the best choice to choose. You can also use this white Orbiloc as a small flashlight, super handy right?!
